On the palate the spice breaks through with plum and red currant, followed by fresh acidity that balances the sweetness of the light fruit. Firm tannins brought out by the terroir of the region complement the surprisingly textural and earthy finish. This wine begs for grilled meats-lamb with herbs and mint would be perfect with the savory quality of this red.
